Sacred Ceremonies

Being an officiant, for me, is an honor and a pleasure as we co-create the perfect tapestry of sentiments, concepts, words, customs, music and flourishes to Celebrate Your Love in Your Own Way in a Custom Wedding / Commitment Ceremony!

At the time I became an officiant in 2003, my primary intention was to frame my holistic bodywork practice from a healing, revealing, spiritual perspective.

At my ordination ceremony, however, when asked to prepare a vision & mission statement for my officiant practice, I included such ministerial activities as: designing / performing custom wedding ceremonies, memorial services and other sacred ceremonies; writing; public speaking; caring for animals & elders; and holding bedside vigils for the sick & dying.

Happily, all these activities have organically come to fruition, beginning in '07 when a bodywork client of mine asked if I would officiate her 8-8-08 wedding in the beautiful Japanese Garden at CSULB.  It was amazing to co-create a Buddhist-inspired celebration of the love between a French-American woman and her beloved Australian man with guests coming from 3 countries! 

So from this first ceremony to today, after 5 years of weddings, memorials, bedside vigils, contributions to LA Times articles and other publications, I can confidently say this is The Work that all other positions in non-profit / major event / music production, and 40 years of independent study in human culture & consciousness, spirituality & wisdom traditions, cultural anthropology & sociology, healing & self-discovery, music & the arts have led to!
