If you are looking for a gorgeous cake that not only looks amazing, but tastes amazing too... you have found your bakery here! Yuko at Vanilla Bake Shop did a fantastic job of designing a cake that captured the spirit of my fiance (now husband) and I. We had found these cute cake toppers on an etsy.com shop that we had fallen in love with... Yuko actually wound up designing the style of the cake around the design of these cake toppers and what we wound up with was exactly what we'd hoped for! The best part of all is that the cakes at VBS truly taste AMAZING!!! We opted for 2 different flavors between the 4 tiers of our cake: white cake with fresh cream and berries with a buttercream frosting AND banana chocolate chip with a cream cheese frosting. Our guests were RAVING over the flavors and design of the cake. Most wound up splitting theirs with friends so that they could try both flavors of the cake;) Definitely head on over to VBS for your tasting!

I'm a huge dessert fan, but not usually a wedding cake fan because they're usually uninspired, dried out and flavorless. When I was planning my wedding, I wasn't too excited about the cake. It seemed like such a small detail in a whole day of wedding festivities. But after my tasting with Yuko at Vanilla Bake Shop, I changed my mind! I loved every bite that I sampled (Vanilla Bean, Black and White Raspberry, Red Velvet, Chocolate Southern Banana Pudding, Strawberries and Cream, Triple Berry Cream and 7-Layer Chocolate Peanut Butter)! And it was a "love" on a scale that includes desserts at trendy restaurants, and not just in the wedding cake world. I was so blown away with the tasting and the discussion of what the cake would look like, that I couldn't stop talking about my cake to everyone - including my DJ (make sure you pin-spot this baby, it can't be left in the dark!), photographer (you have to get lots of shots of this cake!!) and all my guests on our wedding website! It was a tough decision, but we ultimately went with the Strawberries and Cream and 7-Layer Chocolate Peanut Butter cakes. I was a bit nervous that the wedding cakes wouldn't live up the hype I created or taste like the samples, but they did!!! They were AMAZING!!! Super moist, flavorful and delicious!! Side note: the samples we had at the tasting were not slices of the cakes, rather they were mini-cakes with the accompanying flavors and frosting on top. I wasn't sure the proportions would be right. I loved all the peanut butter frosting they put on the mini-cake, but what woudl it taste like when it was between all those layers of chocolate frosting? I didn't know. Proportion is key for me (I love York Peppermint Patties, but just regular size; the large one has too much mint and not enough chocolate - wrong proportions). Luckily, my worrying was for naught. The proportions were great! And finally, the appearance of the cake. We didn't have a huge wedding, but I wanted a dramatic looking wedding cake, so they created some faux layers. I had asked other bakeries we were considering if they could do faux layers, and they would not. In the end, I got the best wedding cake EVER in terms of look and taste!!! We read mixed reviews on yelp... but decided to have a tasting anyway and had a wonderful experience!Our wedding cake was a three tiered square cake... it was stacked perfectly with sharp corners and totally straight sides... my husband and i are very detail oriented! Not only was it beautiful... but delicious!!! ALL OF OUR GUESTS LOVED IT!!! Definitely a great place to get your cake :)

The cupcakes speak for themselves. We're big foodies and we used Vanilla Bake Shop to do a dessert table with cupcakes, tarts, cake pops, macaroons and a little two tiered cake. Everything was delicious! We did a tasting here and at another leading wedding bakery in the area and really felt like not only was it no competition in terms of taste, but the prices ended up being significantly cheaper. We were very happy with the results and still go there regularly just to eat cupcakes :)

The Vanilla Bake Shop was awesome! Our cake designer offered great suggestions on flavors and designs. It turned out better then we imagined! Everyone says one of the best parts of the wedding was the cake :)

My wedding cake was so beautiful and delicious! I brought it my design idea and they did an amazing job bringing it to life. The cake itself was just YUM! It was moist and incredible and the frosting wasn't too sugary. When we initially had our tasting at VBS I was so impressed with the treatment we received. They were the only shop that offered us milk and coffee (instead of just water) when we arrived. I was a little nervous that their prices would be outrageous because every cake I saw was more beautiful than the next and everything we tasted was amazing. I was SO pleasantly surprised when the cake came in under budget! Thank you VBS! I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an amazingly delicious cake that also happens to be perfectly gorgeous and affordable. I am truly impressed. We saved the cake top for our first anniversary and I am REALLY looking forward to eating it. Although, I have to admit I will probably be stopping by the store to pick up more goodies well before then!!!

We were impressed from the moment we met at the tasting. We dropped in with out and appointment and they had all the cakes we wanted to taste ready within a few moments. We provided a vague idea of what we wanted the cake to look like and they created a beautiful cake. It was delicious a moist and we LOVED it. They also let us choose multiple flavors and they used butter cream instead of fondant which was REALLY important to us. The cake looked so beautiful.

We LOVE this cupcake shop! My husband and I use to go twice a week, back when we worked very near to it. The cake they delivered was the most delicious, amazingly tasty thing we've ever eaten. Even more delicious than the desserts they have in the store. I have two main problems with them as a wedding cake provider. 1)They weren't very good at getting back to me about anything other than the tasting appointment. Designs and paying them was surprisingly slow. 2)The person who attempted to design my cake was very uninspired. I'm not convinced she even tried at all. I gave the woman a few ideas of things I liked and she gave me the most boring watered down cake designs I'd ever seen. In the end, I ended up designing it myself by incorporating two or three of the cake designs together in a clean, tasteful way. I was disappointed about that. Also, I ordered it without fondant. I wanted smooth icing. I got fondant. It was an incredibly cake and everyone loved. People were literally stealing other people's cakes. So if they can improve those aspects of their service, they'd be 5 stars.

While Vanilla Bake Shop was more expensive then other bakeries, we got a great cake. The process was extremely smooth and they turned a simple drawing into a amazing beach themed cake

we tried cupcakes from at least 7 different bakeries! vanilla bake shop was THE BEST tasting by a loooong shot. Even after we decided to choose them, we have been kind of cupcake connoisseurs searching for a better cupcake and just have not been able to find one. not crumbs, not portos, not everything bundt cakes,.. non of them even come close. .. and they are also very pretty and competitively priced

Our catering package from our venue provided cake from Vanilla Bake Shop. I was pretty excited to have them as our cake vendor because I've only heard great things about this place. When we went for the tasting, it might have been the batch we were trying because we were unimpressed with the cake. However, we were impressed with Stephanie from VBS. She was patient in going over cake designs with us and provided a wonderful drawing mockup - which she emailed to us. On the day of the wedding, our cake was absolutely beautiful and it was delicious. Many people came up to us and complimented us on our cake!

One day R proposed to A and she accepted. This of course meant that we would have a wedding and also that R and A would need a wedding cake. Oh what to do??? We thought about different cake options and eventually decided on cupcakes. We then looked at several bakeries Vanilla Bake Shop included. There was one or two that were cheaper and one that was about the same price... but there was none that was as delicious. We simply LOVED their cupcakes!!! They had multiple varieties of utter yumminess! We chose 5 (Meyer lemon raspberry, mint chocolate, birthday cake, strawberries & cream, black & white). Then for the coups de gras, our cake topper was a 7 layer chocolate and peanut butter… The Good Lord can come and get me now! It’s only been a few weeks, but we continue to receive compliments on both how beautiful the cupcake tower was, as well as how delicious the cupcakes were. We’ve also been told how much fun everyone had tasting them all. Thank you Vanilla Bake Shop for helping to make our wedding day just that much more amazing! As a ps...2 1/2 months later, we finished our cake top. We both agree it was still delicious despite the fact that we had not taken all precautions when freezing/storing it.

Vanilla Bakeshop did a spectacular job on our wedding cupcake tower. Kim was very friendly and accommodating during our cupcake tasting and was extremely responsive throughout the planning process. The tower was setup in a timely manner on the day-of. The cupcakes were delicious, and many of our guests complimented us on how beautiful and customized it looked. Our cake topper even matched the fabric we provided for the tower panels. The setup and delivery fee was non-negotiable, but they were flexible in allowing us to return the tower 2 days later.

Amy is amazing. The cake turned out perfect. She took our theme and ran with it to make the most beautiful cake ever. We had a fall theme and our cake looked perfect with the entire decor. I received so many compliments from friends and family on how beautiful the cake looked and how good it tasted. The cake was moist and melted in our mouths. Thanks again Vanilla Bake Shop!

My cake was one of the most gorgeous parts of the wedding! I was absolutely in love with it that even my husband did not want to cut into it when it was time to cut the cake. It was absolutely breathtaking!! Amy is a true artist! She created a 6 tier pale pink cake, with diamond and black satin trim to match the wedding perfectly. She followed every detail I gave her to a T!! It was a classy, beautiful understated cake just like its creator! Amy was attentive and fantastic during our tasting and choosing of the cake. She made it so fun and simple - it was the easiest thing I had to do for the wedding! I even ordered the dessert shots and had them served with each slice of cake and it was such a hit!! Everyone was talking about the cake and dessert shots! I was happy that it didn't just look gorgeous but tasted heavenly too! I truly recommend this bakery to any bride! VBS was able to create a cake from a photograph that I found to suit my wedding theme. They didn't make me choose something from their list of previously made cake designs. The cake was beautiful and was absolutely delicious. They use the best ingredients. They are easy going and very helpful. They made the selection of the cake and design an enjoyable event for my husband and I. They delivered on time and in perfect condition for the reception. They deserve 5 stars!
