One Night Affair Gown Rentals

Ok, so I needed a dress for the Emmys...and i had to I impress, i mean come on, it's the EMMYS! and everyone will be wearing a designer gown, but what I was worried about the most was, what if I go buy something from Neiman Marcus, or a hot boutique and someone else is wearing the same dress on the same night!, that will be sooo embarrassing, that's happened before . So I went to One night Affair, and i was so surprised !.... they had one of a kind Versace's and Badgley Mischka's , they also had vintage dresses which for sure no one would have from top couture collections. This place is like my little secret, so i got a Versace gown which retails at 6,000 for $595, such a deal!!!!!!!!!! but most importantly, no one will be wearing the same outfit =)

I rented my prom dress from them back in 1998 and had an absolutely wonderful experience! Nobody else had a dress that could even come close to competing with mine, it was so amazing and I still remember feeling like a movie star walking into a movie premiere. Having never forgotten that feeling, needless to say, when I got engaged last December, I immediately thought of them and was hoping that they were still around. I had moved to Seattle 9 years ago, so I'm not up on everything that's going on around Los Angeles. I was really excited when I found out that not only are they still around but they had so many more options to offer to make it convenient for someone like me who is out of town. They told me if I didn't want to fly into Los Angeles that I could do the entire rental (or purchase if I wanted to...which I didn't want) by internet. I actually preferred to fly down so I could physically see everything that they had to offer....I like to see the fabrics and lace and try things on, and not to mention, have someone help me with that whole process. Considering that I've never been married before, I really needed some direction with the whole thing because I was completely stressed out and overwhelmed with this whole wedding idea! A prom dress was one thing, but a wedding dress...this was a whole new ballgame. I flew in the end of January, had an appointment on a Friday evening, I found an overwhelming amount of gowns that were absolutely gorgeous and the staff was unbelievably helpful, friendly and nice (I don't know what some of you other people were talking about), they walked me through everything and gave me some extremely creative ideas (which I ended up in the end using), but even so, I couldn't make up my mind, so I left and ended up coming back the next day, having slept on things, I was ready to go back and make my decision. Nervous as I was, that was the best decision I have ever made. The gown was unbelievably beautiful by the designer Eve of Milady, I got all the extra "STUFF" to go with it, jewelry, veil and headpiece, even the understuff. I ended up flying in one more time a couple weeks ago, just before my wedding to have it altered and fit to me, which again worked out splendid, not a single glitch, and I took it home with me. My wedding was as magical as anyone could ever imagine, I couldn't have hoped for anything more...I looked and felt like a princess bride, and everyone was completely blown away when I told them that I had rented it from the same place that I had rented my prom dress 12 years ago in Los Angeles. I have nothing but fantastic things to say about One Night Affair and I will make sure that I tell everyone that I know and anyone who I don't know who will listen, that I highly highly recommend them, they are one of my favorite memories of my entire wedding day Show less

I got my second wedding dress here after I decided that I wanted a different gown. I was very happy with the dress they recommended for me based on my description. It was something I would've never chosen on my own but I loved how it looked and fit me. My only complaint was alterations...When I came to pick my dress up, it was too tight. It took two more fixes before she could get it right. Other than that, they did take the time to fix it while I waited. It was a beautiful dress for a decent price.

Renting my dress was the best idea ever! I was able to rent a dress I would've never been able to afford. They altered it to fit me exactly and even changed the zip up back into a corset tie for me. Can't say enough amazing things about their alteress. Shes amazing!

I'm always going to get my dresses from One Night Affair, I felt so comfortable with the staff and everyone was so honest with me, Their prices are so low, you can rent a 6,000 gown for 995! Who does that?? I really want you guys to go see for yourself !

I loved the dress I selected and it was ready on time. My first fitting or appt to select a dress was a bit chaotic and the assistant that was supposed to be helping me was all over the store assisting others. Thankfully my sister and best friend were there with me to pull dresses and help me try them on. When I picked up the dress for the final fitting everything was great except putting the dress in cheep flimsy dry cleaning type bags that tore very easily. They should invest in proper dress bags to protect the dress. The value was great and the alteration costs were reasonable.

Renting a designer dress was one of the best decisions I made. I shopped around for a long time trying to find a great dress I could afford. Sadly, everything I even remotely liked was way over my budget. When I found out about this place I was super pleased! I was able to get a gorgeous designer dress for only a few hundred dollars instead of thousands. The ladies there are super friendly. I was able to find my perfect dress on my first visit. They have a great selection. They were also very flexible and willing to work with my schedule. They normally rent out dresses for Saturday events, but my wedding was on a Tuesday. They were able to work things out to where I could return my dress a couple of days late and not get charged a penalty fee. One thing to watch out for, they may hike up their rental price by saying that they are letting you rent a 10,000 dress when its only really worth 4,000. I recommend bargaining with them, talk them down a couple of hundred dollars. Oh, and the dress fit like a glove, they even fixed a few things I noticed during my final fitting.

For all brides who do not want to feel stuck with a wedding dress and don't have room to keep it, renting a wedding dress is the way to go. One Night Affair had the right idea - without them I would never be able to wear a Vera gown at my wedding. Best of all, they modified it to reflect my shape and style - yes, even a slight change to Vera's gown made it more my special "custom" dress.

Pros:-Carolina is amazing! She knows her dresses and smoothly transitions you into the perfect designer gown!- Wonderful selection of various styles.- Rental provides you with a gorgeous gown that wil not hold dust in your closet or require an expensive cleaning. It is a practical choice for someone who has expensive taste, but would rather spend their budget on something else.- The primary seamstress is very thorough. She knows what she is doing.- I received many compliments on the dress and the fit was phenomenal.- They were flexible and allowed me to have an early pick-up, since I was very anxious aboout the final condidtion of the dress. Cons:- Once you sign commit, you essentially never see a salesgirl (e.g., Carolina) again. Those who can put you at ease when there is a problem are few. - Booking far in advance allows for more rental prior to your use. This left my dress in a horrible altered condition. Fortunately, I had taken pictures of the original, but even then, it took three fittings to return the dress to a reasonable state. I was more frustrated about this because I had originally feared this problem. However, they had reassured me that they order the pieces from the designer to return to its original condition. This was not the case. They store the removed or altered pieces in the back room. - Other seamstress, aside from the primary, was not knowledgeable and was unable to communicate effectively. I did not get the primary until later.Overall, I do not regret my decision to rent my gown with One Night Affair. However, the experience did cause me stress in the couple of weeks prior to my wedding.

One Night Affair made it possible for me to wear a beautiful designer gown for a fraction of the cost. They have a great selection and an in house seamstress for alterations. They are a no muss no fuss kind of place, so if you need to be pampered this might not be the place for you - but it was perfect for me - I had so many other things to do I didn't need to spend hours at a dress shop drinking champagne!I received so many compliments on the gown!

After a bit of searching, we found the right dress for the right price.I also appreciated that the store was so well kept and orderly. Sometimes bridal stores can feel a little cramped! Also, all the display dresses were in great shape.Everyone felt and looked really beautiful and the pictures came out really nice with all the different hairstyles she came up with. First of all, do not let the outside of the building or the lack of free parking stop you from going in. Just feed your meter and watch your time, keeping in mind that you will be overwhelmed by the selection inside the shop and it will take some time. I worked with Kristin, who is enthusiastic and really knows her gowns. She will talk with you a bit about what you're looking for and your budget and will steer you to the section of the store where you'll want to start. 10 dress try-ons later, I found the perfect dress! I must admit that I never even began the hunt for a dress to buy, knowing for sure that I'd never wear it again. How many people do you know who wear their dress again for an anniversary or pass it down to their daughter? I know no one...and I took quite an extensive poll before I decided to rent. That decision made, I went in knowing that I had to find my dress there. I hear that the one I chose retails for about $8,000. Can't confirm that for sure, but I did check out this Italian designer's website and saw their current designs. Exquisite, is all I can say. And those were the sorts of compliments I was receiving all night during the wedding. I chose a champagne colored gown with an a-line design. The beadwork was so beautiful. The only downside was that you have to follow their strict guidelines to pick up the dress, drop it off, and you won't have the gown with you to match your colors...purse, shoes, other accessories. I found myself going by the store many times with swatches and shoes before the wedding. But, if you live nearby, it's not too inconvenient to make an appointment to stop by. We rented our bridesmaids dresses and even my mother's "mother of the bride" gown there too. Dollar for dollar spent, I'd say that it was worth every penny to rent the wedding gown. But, if you can find a bridesmaid dress for a reasonable cost, buy it instead. The alterations for my bridesmaids became a coordination process and you could tell they'd been altered many times before. But in the end, it worked out. There aren't as many choices for those dresses either, but we lucked out and found a good design in the color we wanted. As for the wedding gown they really put their efforts most into those, so I can't say enough good things about my gown rental. I will remember my special day in that gown for the rest of my life. I am so thrilled to have worn a dress so beautiful for such a great price. I HIGHLY recommend that all rent their dresses. My wedding photos look like I spent thousands instead of hundreds. Highly recommended!

Although I have gushed about my other vendors, this is one that I am not too pleased with. I dont know how they have such high reviews when Yelp.com shows otherwise. My experience is more parallel to Yelp reviews. My first appnt went very smoothly; Carolina assisted me and was of great help. I literally found my dress within 3 try-ons! Their selection is great!However, once I signed the paperwork and they got my business, I no longer felt valued or appreciated. Dresses are rented out once per season, and that is the risk you take when renting it out for the wedding day. My dress was in pristine condition when I first tried it on. It went out on a photoshoot and when it was returned it wasnt the same. It wasnt irreparable damage; however, One Night Affair did not help to bring it back to a somewhat comparable condition. My final fitting kept being pushed back because "the dress was still at the cleaners being pressed." However, when I finally came in for the final fitting, it was all lies. The dress had not even been cleaned since the photoshoot. The breast-line hem was still raggedy and buttons were missing, a stain on the train... it was a mess! So my final fitting wasnt a true final fitting because the dress wasnt ready. I gave them my notes on what NEEDED to be fixed before I came to pick it up. You won't believe, when I came to pick it up TWO DAYS before the wedding, it STILL wasnt ready. All the requests I had made had not been followed through! Buttons were STILL MISSING!!! and the stain wasnt taken out!!!! So I was asked to come back in 4 hours. When i returned, the buttons were mismatched and discolored; the breast-line hem was still raggedy. (I wish I could show you the pictures on this review!) I am not that picky of a bride either. Those were some major flaws. I would have to say thinking about the dress still pains me. Because they knew they had my business and my wedding was only 2 days away, there was an indifferent attitude that remains to be a bitter taste in my mouth. Bottom Line: Great selection and value. Horrible customer service and business practice. Your call.

I was so happy that I had an experience with One Night Affair Gown Rentals .The boutique was specious and carry all kinds of gorgeous pieces. And I loved atmosphere in it - very relaxing and stuff is very helpful.

This is the way to go. I did not want to spend much money on a dress and rented a designer dress and felt GREAT IN IT. Did not care at all that I did not keep it. They are a little restrictive when you can pick the dress up and might want to charge you $25 for an "early pick up" even if it's just a day. My wedding was on a Friday so I was caught off guard. I also had to double check after the fitting, there was not a hook and eye on it or a place to bussle. They fixed it right away but inspect the dress and also inspect it while picking it out. Some have some beadng missing but overall, a lot of gems!!!!

Awesome idea! Why pay full price when you can rent a designer gown for less. Great service!

My dress was beautiful

All I have to say is Kristen..Kristen..Kristen. This lady was absolutely amazing! In a nutshell ...I had 6 days (yes 6 days) to plan my wedding..and with her help everything thing worked out perfectly without a hitch... well.. I had a hard time deciding between the Reem Acra and the Vera Wang gown but in the end it was Reem Acra and it was beautiful. My wedding was perfect thanks in part to the patient, understanding and VERY quick on their feet staff at One Night Affair. I highly recommend them to EVERYONE that I hear is getting married. Why pay full price for a dress that you are only going to ware once. RENT a designer gown.. look fabulous on your special day and use that extra money that you saved on your dress towards your honeymoon Signed,M.Bell-Chuck

I went shopping to so many places and everything looked the same, all the sales people were so pushy, I guess with the way the economy is these days that everyones desperate.But it was my wedding day and I decided that I wasn't going to just settle.I came to your store not imagining I would find anything. I was completely amazed with what I found and the service I received and I felt that I had to write a review, which is something I've never done before. I'm so glad I didn't listen to people telling me I needed to keep my wedding gown so I could give it to my daughter, if I had I would have never gone in....what a mistake it would have been and I would have never found the perfect dress (by the way I've never known anyone that has worn their mothers wedding gown). The store has a very cozy feel to it even though it is very large and could be very intimidating. The girls were extremely helpful, especially Kristen (the tall Blonde) She knows her stuff, she's very much to the point and knows what she's talking about. She never came off all complimentary and told me I looked great in everything, she explained what would flatter my figure in the style that I liked and she was right. I found a fabulous gown by the designer "Allure" it's beautiful, and I could have never afforded to actually go out and buy this gown, it's only for one (very special) day and I'll have beautiful pictures to look back at.I'm thrilled with everyone at One Night Affair and would recommend them to everyone.
