Hansen's cakes is beyond delicious, and they do a gorgeous job every time. Our cake was beautiful and very affordable. Their customer service could be better but they are too delicious to care

We hired Hansen's to do our wedding cake. We had a choice of several bakers included in our package at Almansor Court. We went to one and they didn't specialize in wedding cakes, where as Hansen's does. That is the main reason we chose them. When we went for the tasting, they didn't have very many cakes for us to taste, and they were little pieces wrapped in cellophane. They only do buttercream frosting, no whipped cream. So everything was very sweet. That was my only complaint. My husband loves the cake, but I thought it was way too sweet. We chose it anyway and I have to say the appearance of the cake was beautiful! We chose red flowers with green leaves to be dripping down the sides, and we never saw one like it in person, until the day of the wedding. I was worried the frosting flowers might look messy and actually drip, but it came out perfect and beautiful! The cake was nice and moist, not dry like others. We had them leave the flowers off the top, so we could put our handmade cake topper and that worked well. The cake didn't look incomplete without the flower build-up on top. One thing I was surprised by, was they only offered us two tiers, because we only had 70 people to feed. They offered to separate the tiers with pillars which we did and I recommend. At the wedding, it looked like a large beautiful cake. We surrounded it with candles, making it even more stunning!

We decided to go with Hansen's because several friends had mentioned they had good cakes. (The cake was included in our wedding with our venue and we had 2 bakeries to go with.) Our overall experience with Hansen's was good. All three flavors of our cake turned out amazing and all of our guests who had the cake loved it. When we went there for our first tasting, the gal who helped us with the tasting was great. She was really nice and had a lot of tips for us about popularity of flavors. The gal who helped us with the order (don't remember her name) could not rush us through the process any faster. We went on a Sunday about an hour before closing so maybe that's why she had so much attitude and was in a rush to get us to leave and make a decision. Needless to say, I went back a week later and thank goodness the same girl wasnt' there. Another girl, (I think her name was Jennifer) helped us and she was super sweet and understanding of me "changing my mind" on the cake flavors and colors of the ribbon. We saved our top layer and I hope it's just as good on our 1 year anniversary. :)

After having many delicious Hansen's Cakes at other weddings, I couldn't wait to have one at my own small wedding. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. When discussing my strict budget constraints with my sales person, she seemed hesitant to want to work with us. On the day of the wedding, the cake decorations weren't even the right color. Luckily I was too happy on my wedding day to care, but as a professional meeting and event planner of 15 years, I have to be honest about my disappointment in the overall service and experience.

Well, what can I say. When my fiance and I first went here for our cake tasting, I would not happy AT ALL with the attitude or service of one of the ladies there. I mean, she totally rubbed me the wrong way. However, there was one cake that we tasted and I fell in love it and even craved it later.I went for a 2nd visit and brought them a design that my fiance came up with and ended up speaking with the same lady that I could not STAND. This time around, she was very helpful, friendly, and catering to my needs. I will say, that she is not professional AT ALL! But - she knows her stuff when it comes to design of cakes and is very fun to work with on choices/ideas.On the day of the wedding, the cake was a HIT. It tast good, looked good, and we loved it.Once our professinal pictures come in, we're sending a thank you card with a picture of the cake.

The cake was included in my wedding package through my venue. The cake here is DELICIOUS. It is absolutely the best cake I have ever eaten. I would consider using them for birthday cakes for my kids in the future (if I had the money at least!). The only negative thing I have to say about them is the color of my cake was WRONG (it was blue instead of purple!!) and one tier of my cake was white instead of marble like we ordered (but the other two tiers were correct). I was a bit upset that the color and middle tier were incorrect but it's a pretty insignificant detail when it tastes so good!

Going into Hansens was wonderful. The I had to wait for a while to make the order, which required a lot of patience. Aside from that the cake was wonderful and I'm ahppy that I got my cake from them.

We had to haggle about getting the 4th tier added to our cake and then pay for it since the hotel wouldn't cover a larger cake vs. headcount. In the end, the 120 guests ate almost 3 tiers of cake!!! The Groom's cake lacked the detail we had asked for to illustrate a white XBOX console. Both cakes were delicious though!!!!

I've ordered many cakes from Hansen's over the years. I love how their cakes taste. I was so excited to order my wedding cake from them and they did not disappoint. They delivered on time and the cake was perfect. Thank you Hansen's.

I first heard of Hansen's while viewing an episode of Tori and Dean. A year ago I ordered a tiffany box cake for my sister's bridal shower. The cake looked and tasted superb, but it fell apart as I cut into it. I didn't know much about icing then as I do know because I planned my wedding. I read and heard that buttercream is the best, but fondant holds up well during outside events in the summer. My fiance and I went to a cake tasting at the Beverly Hills location. We arrived 20 min before closing (5 pm). As we walked up to the door it looked pretty dark, but the door was unlocked. A young lady was sitting behind a desk, when we told her we were there to taste a few flavors. She said she only have a couple of flavors left and insisted we go to the Fairfax location, 3 times. Even after going to the back and returning with 5 flavors she was still insisting we go to the fairfax location. She stated "it's only 8 min away, they're open till 6". I said No!!! this is enough of flavors to try. We already knew what style we wanted, we pretty much just needed to taste a few flavors. And I wanted my fiance to taste because he'd never had Hansen's before. Every question we ask she answered as if we were standing on the sidewalk. She had her head turned towards the window the entire time. I asked her opinion on the icing since our wedding reception is outdoors and she said buttercream will be fine. fondant doesn't taste good and it's expensive she wouldn't suggest using fondant icing. And she also suggested we do some cake tasting at other bakeries before making a decision. That short experience pretty much left a nasty taste in my mouth. As long as my Fiance was cool with the place I had all intentions on moving forward with Hansen's. I wasn't going to look or I should say taste in further. But after that experience with Monique at Hansen's in Beverly Hills. I've moved on to Vanilla Bake Shop in Santa Monica.

Hansen's was my dream wedding cake shop. I was so excited when I found out that my venue included a cake from Hansen's. Suzi was a wonderful breathe of fresh air. She has worked on celebrity cakes, but was so down to earth and was willing to give me the same time, attention, and care as she gave her VIP clients. Every layer of my cake was fabulous both in looks and taste.

NOTHING in my wedding went wrong except for my cake and the wretched experience we had with Hansen's Cakes. They lack any sort of customer service or compassion. They don't care about the fact that its your wedding. They don't care what you want your cake to look like. & they don't care enough to take your order and keep it on file organized for you big day. I've never been so distraught or disturbed by the way a business, or even another person, has treated me before. They are HORRIBLE!! The unfortunate thing is, I was warned about how horrible they are and I ignored the advice. Please don't follow in my footsteps. Here is why...Included with my package with my venue were two bakeries to choose from for my wedding cake, Torrance Bakery or Hansen's Cakes. I was actually quite excited that Hansen's was one of my choices since they are located very close to my home also they've done celebrity weddings. I expected great service, and cake!We went in for our tasting 2 months prior to our date. Sat with Monique, a sales rep, ate our samples and fell in love with the flavors. The design wasn't what we were looking for so she quoted us the cost for 3 peonies rather than the typical roses as well as the additional cost for the fresh strawberries for 2 of the layers. We asked her what the next step would be to move forward with our order. She said to call back February 19, one month prior to the wedding, with a total head count. My Fiancé called gave our name and the head count, which they accepted with no problems or questions. The Sunday prior to our wedding I got this gut feeling I should call, again, to confirm our order. THEY DIDN'T HAVE OUR ORDER ON FILE!!!! nor did they care that they didn't have our order. I had to remember the different flavors and attempt to describe the design after already showing Monique the exact picture what we wanted. After sitting on the phone with them for an hour and a half, they said they'd be able to get the cake made... Great, right? NO. I then told them about the peony flowers I wanted. They were out and they weren't willing to make them. She suggested roses, which I responded that there isn't a single rose incorporated in my wedding. Suggestion 2: pull flowers from my centerpieces. I told her I have feathers and balls of carnations... won't work. Then I asked if they had carnations. If you bunch them together they will give the effect of a peony. NO. Also, our cake is black. She didn't want to make it black but suggested making it with dark chocolate which would taste better. Fine, but what will it look like on a black table cloth... brown... NO!! It's supposed to be a black cake with white dots and 3 white peonies. At this point they had NO solutions to help me or attempt to fix the problem they had created. If I had not called to confirm I would have walked into the ballroom with no cake. Can you imagine not have a cake or sharing that moment with your new husband???? After insisting they find a solution and to call me back Monday morning I broke down in angry tears. NO one called me on Monday. My Fiancé tried to handle the situation, which didn't work. The second associate we spoke with argued with me over details such as which email I should be using, all of which I'm trying my hardest to hold my tears back knowing we aren't going to get our dream cake. Then to add insult to injury they wanted to still charge us for the strawberries and now the dark chocolate exterior (which they were going to turn black). None of which I had a problem paying for when the original order was placed, but at this point customer service is what they didn't provided. Offer me something as a suggestion of an apology PLEASE! You know what they suggested??? A letter stating their apology that they would mail to me. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!?!?!? Needless to say, my wedding cake wasn't what I originally ordered. When I saw my cake for the first time in the reception room I died. I couldn't believe they went forward with the standard wedding cake design that I despise. I had picked my cake out 2 months into our engagement. It was something we both really loved. Our one wedding cake we get and it wasn't what we dreamed of. They didn't even try to get or make the peonies that I originally ordered. A LARGE pile of roses (which I was very adamant about not being on the cake at all!) sat at the top of our cake where our vintage cake topper was supposed to be sitting, instead it sat to the side of the cake. It broke my heart. DO NOT USE HANSEN'S CAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall I was very pleased with my experience at Hansen's Cakes in LA. We came in at the very end of the day with only one weekend in LA to plan our wedding. We came in- no appointment. And Hansen's was able to beat the price of other competing bakeries in the area... offered up samples on the fly that were delicious. An obvious difference in taste and variety than what we had been seeing and tasting. And price wise they came in DRAMATICALLY lower than we expected with a bakery of such notoriety doing celeb wedding cakes all the time etc. I called from my home town of Phoenix to try to communicate and firm up reception details and confirm delivery instructions and they were very cooperative with the minor changes. My only complaint was that the cake I picked I preferred squared off edges on each of the tiers rather than the rounded off "beveled" edges as shown in the picture. They made note of such in my order but the day of my cake showed up with the beveled edges. Not a major deal breaker but just thought I would mention it. The cake was still gorgeous and amazing and to this day the best cake I have ever tasted in my life. Which is what cake is all about!

Their cake is delicious and the prices are very reasonable - especially if you stick with one of their standard designs. We wanted scrolls on our wedding cake. A custom design added a dollar a slice (or more) so we stuck with one of theirs, and it came out beautifully in our colors.

I had a cake from Hansen's for my Bat Mitzvah and it was delicious! So of course we decided to have one at our wedding. Their prices are very reasonable compared to other bakeries we looked at. Our wedding cake was wonderful everyone loved it. We will definitely be having Hansen's cakes at our future events.

My husband and I got our wedding cake at Hansen's. The cake we got it's the best tasting cake I've had in my life. Laura Hansen herself sat down with us and helped us every step of the way, she was totally personable and friendly, it felt like a good friend or neighbor helping us plan the cake. She gave little suggestions but let us make the cake our own creation. And she was very generous with the great-tasting samples. I can't recommend Hansen's enough. So good!

The best thing we can say about Hansens is they have one incredible lady working there named KATHRYN SMITH. She had the most positive attitude anyone can have, and she was patient with us, didnt pressure us to buy anything but made us feel comfortable enough to get our cake from this Bakery. She was on top of every detail of our order including the color swatch, pick up time, and payment. One of my cousins paid for our cake, and she handled every detail with care and professionalism. On top of that the cake tasted great! We had different flavors and filling for each tier, and Hanses was one of the few Bakerys that served German Chocolate filling! We were very pleased with the customer service and the quality of the cake. Although most of their cakes are expensive they have a pretty good selection for the lower price range cakes. I recommend Hanses to any Bride who wants a versatile selection in both cake flavor and design. And when looking for excellent customer service, ask for Kathryn Smith at the Fairfax location!

It was great working with Hansen's - they customized our beach theme wedding cake just exactly the way we wanted. We sampled cakes as well until we found the one we loved and were very pleased. Everyone absolutely loved my wedding cake as well and asked me where I got it!
